Since our founding assembly in 2002, we have been working to make our local health care system more accessible, equitable, and affordable for people in the Tri-County area (see MACG's Accomplishments.)

The MACG Health Care Action Team worked in coalition with many other health care reform groups to pass HB 2009 and HB 2116 in the 2009 legislative session. This puts Oregon on the road toward universal health care and comprehensive reform.

Moving into 2010, the Health Care Action Team developed a three-part strategy:

1.    Continue our work in coalition with other advocacy organizations to ensure the State implements effective statewide reform.

2.    Demonstrate the impact of our work by signing up kids for insurance through the Healthy Kids Program.

3.    Keep people informed about the national reform efforts.
